In most years, “practicing on Thanksgiving” means you’ve made a deep run into the UIL State Playoffs and have a Friday playoff matchup at a neutral site. But 2020 is not most years. Class 5A and 6A teams across Texas have regularly scheduled games the day after Thanksgiving this season and that’s also true of the Frenship Tigers (2-6, 1-4) who will face off with the Odessa High Bronchos at Peoples Bank Stadium, their final matchup of the 2020 season.

As a passionate and dedicated educator and leader, fifth grade Dual Language teacher Robert Nunez was selected as Frenship's nomination for the 2021 LCU Distinguished Educator of Lubbock County award.

For the first time in almost twenty-five years, Frenship Cross-Country is sending a female runner to the state meet. Freshman athlete, Faith Zint, is ready for the challenge ahead in Round Rock, TX on Tuesday, November 24.

Earlier this week, Stephani Campbell, Behavior Intervention Specialist, sent out a newsletter to teachers and staff with useful tips on dealing with holiday behaviors in the classroom. The newsletter was full of ways to keep students engaged as well as resources for teachers to use for additional assistance.

Frenship Tiger Girls Basketball opened their season Friday, November 6 up I-27 against the Canyon Randall Raiders.

It hasn’t been the season Head Coach Jay Northcutt and his staff envisioned as COVID-19 and injuries have provided the Tigers more than their share of challenges to overcome. Frenship (2-5, 1-4) fell Friday, November 6 to the Midland Lee Rebels 50-21 at People’s Bank Stadium.

For the second season in a row, Frenship Volleyball (16-1, 11-0) has won the District 2-6A Championship. The Tigers played three matches in five days hosting Midland Lee on Friday, November 6, Abilene High the following day, and the Midland High Lady Bulldogs on Tuesday, November 10.

On Wednesday, November 11, National Signing Day, eleven FHS student athletes signed their National Letters of Intent to play collegiate athletics.

Collin Turley, Jalon Jackson, and the Girls Cross Country team ran in the Regional cross country meet on Tuesday, November 10.  All runners performed well with one advancing to the State meet in Round Rock.
