During senior night, the Frenship Football team (3-6, 2-4) finished the shortened 2020 season with a 38-17 victory over the Odessa High Bronchos.

The Tiger Volleyball team rewrote the Frenship record books individually and set a new precedent for success at the 6A level. Frenship (18-2, 12-0) completed an undefeated District 2-6A season and won back-to-back district titles.

Tiger Girls (6-2) and Tiger Boys (2-2) basketball teams both faced opponents during the Thanksgiving break. The boys went on the road to face Wichita Falls Rider at a neutral site in Haskell, Tx on Monday, November 23, and the girls faced Lubbock-Cooper in Woodrow on Tuesday, November 24.

Chelsey Cook, counselor at Heritage Middle School, is preparing for the future to help students cope with the effects and anxieties that have been brought about by COVID-19.

The mentor program at FHS is made up of more than 100 students who serve elementary and middle school students across 11 campuses. The mentors each have two mentees, and in some cases more!

Lonnie Kuss has been a well-known name at Frenship for many years. Some may know him as Coach Kuss, Mr. Kuss, or even Assistant Principal Kuss. But what many don’t know is that Lonnie Kuss is also an award winning musician.

Every year, FHS hosts a blood drive that is open to students, faculty and staff, and community members. This year is no different, and due to the ongoing, global pandemic, the drive is more important than ever before.

While the girls side of Tiger Basketball was unable to travel to Amarillo High on Tuesday, November 17, the boys did make the trip up I-27 to face an equally tough Sandies squad. The game was close throughout but with a big fourth quarter push by the Sandies, Frenship was unable to pull out the victory falling 78-57.

It’s an ongoing understatement to say 2020 has been a year wrought with challenges, and the Frenship Girls Basketball Team has not been immune even early in the season. In the past week, both of Frenship’s previously scheduled opponents (Amarillo High and Lubbock Coronado) have been forced to cancel games due to COVID-19 cases on their respective teams.

Frenship Volleyball (18-1) wrapped up their regular season on the road against Abilene High Friday, November 13, sealing an undefeated District 2-6A campaign with a 25-15, 25-12, 25-18 sweep. With the victory, Frenship extended their winning streak to 14 matches and garnered their twelfth sweep of the season, 9 of which have come in district play.
