Mrs. Maria Ortega

Over the past 18 years I have established my goals to succeed. I started school as an English Language Learner. My motivation to succeed encouraged me to attend South Plains College while working a full time job. I transferred to Texas Tech University to complete my education.  During that period of time, I performed my responsibilities as a student, a wife and as a mother of three daughters. I graduated with a bachelor and a master degree in bilingual education as well as the Multidisciplinary Science certificate from Texas Tech University. My certifications are EC-4 Generalist, EC- 4 Bilingual Education, 6-12 Bilingual Education, and 6-12 Secondary Spanish. My teaching experiences are elementary dual language, middle school, and high school.

My greatest strengths as an educator, is to meet each student’s needs develop lesson plans, use teaching techniques to accommodate multiple learning styles and diversity. My goal is to increase student motivation, provide a safe environment, involve parents and families in school activities and promote student’s learning...

Sincerely, Maria Ortega
