Ronald Orr, M.A.

Ron's Bio
Greetings! My name is Ronald (Ron) Orr, and I am excited to teach at the 9th Grade Center! I've been at the 9GC since 2022 (earning a paycheck), but I also did my student teaching on this campus back in 2019.

I grew up around Fresno, CA, but got to Texas as quickly as I could! I graduated with a double major in History and Classics (Greek and Latin emphasis) from Fresno Pacific University. I moved to Lubbock in 2013 to pursue my Masters in Classics at Texas Tech. I moved to Bloomington, IN, where I worked on even more graduate school, earning a second master's at Indiana University. I moved back to Lubbock in 2018 and finished my teaching certificate at Lubbock Christian University. I have taught every grade level from 7th grade to undergraduates. My most recent courses taught have been Latin (1-4), American History (to 1877), and English Language Arts. I am also currently working on my PhD in Curriculum and Instruction at Texas Tech. Go Red Raiders!

When I am not teaching, I enjoy being a homebody with a great book. I also enjoy spending time outdoors doing activities such as fishing, hunting, camping, and hiking.
