FHS dominated the net in the three-game sweep of the Lady Bronchos with 33 kills and 5.5 blocks as a team. Emma Davila was strong in net with 11 kills and 16 digs on defense. Emily Jones added nine kills and two blocks, Caroline Kerr had six kills and 11 digs, and defensive specialist Hannah Page compiled 16 digs.
The district-opening win moves the team’s current winning streak to six and 20 of their last 21.
Earlier in the week, FHS held off a stingy Hereford team in a five games to win 25-22, 18-25, 25-15, 17-25, 17-15.
The Tigers (22-8, 1-0) continue District 2-6A play with two matches this week. FHS travels to Midland Lee Tuesday before hosting Tascosa Friday at 5:00 p.m. in the Tiger Pit.

Congratulations to sophomore Hannah Page who was recognized by the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal as the Lone Star Varsity Female Athlete of the Week for the week of September 10-14. Page recorded 21 digs versus Levelland and 18 digs versus Greenwood.
