Frenship Memorial High School Names Varsity Cheer Coach

Frenship is thrilled to welcome Shannon Lindsey to the Frenship Family. Lindsey brings a wealth of experience and passion for cheer to her new role, beginning her 14th year as a head cheer coach. She joins Frenship ISD after an impressive career at Lampasas ISD, where she coached for her entire educational journey.

“I knew I eventually wanted to move to West Texas, and I have heard amazing things about Frenship ISD for years,” said Lindsey. “Frenship High School has an incredible cheer program with an amazing coaching staff. From the time I met them, I knew I wanted to join this incredible team and help carry that legacy over to the new high school.”

Lindsey has an impressive coaching resume, including seven UIL State finals appearances, a UIL State Crowd Leading Championship, a UIL State Band Chant Championship, a UIL Spirit State bronze medal, and two NCA High School National Championship titles. She was also selected as Coach of the Year by the Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) and served as an All-Star Coach for the TGCA All-Star team. She currently serves as the Vice Chair of the TGCA Spirit Committee.

With 16 years of experience in education, Lindsey began her career teaching Texas History and coaching multiple sports at Lampasas Middle School. She later transitioned to high school, where she taught a variety of CTE Business courses and coached track, girls soccer, UIL Academics, and cheer.

“I am truly thrilled to be on the ground floor of something new, building a program from the very beginning,” said Lindsey. “It is an extraordinary honor to have the opportunity to start a program. I can't wait to collaborate with the new team, the school, and the community, playing a role in establishing cherished new traditions.”

Lindsey has already helped select the very first cheer team for Frenship Memorial High School and is excited to see what the year brings.

“I have an incredible team with amazing families who have welcomed me with open arms and have been absolutely phenomenal.  I am eager to get started on this journey with them and witness the wonderful things they will accomplish this year,” said Lindsey.

Lindsey is a proud mom to two daughters, Bella and Emberli. Bella is finishing up her freshman year at UTSA, where she’s active in the cheer and mascot program. Emberli is wrapping up her junior year of high school and is working toward her cosmetology license.

Frenship ISD is excited to have Shannon Lindsey leading the Frenship Memorial cheer program. Welcome to the Frenship Family, Coach Lindsey!
