Frenship High School Dominates District Academic UIL Contest

The Academic UIL competition is one of the most comprehensive programs in the nation, designed to motivate students as they deepen their knowledge, tackle important issues, and demonstrate mastery in specific skill areas. These contests challenge students to think critically and creatively, going beyond basic knowledge and comprehension.

This year, Frenship High School sent over 20 students to compete in the district competition. Teams started practicing in September and compete in several practice meets throughout the fall and spring.

Kami Miller, the UIL Coordinator for Frenship High School, stated that the dedication of the student scholars cannot be emphasized enough. Most of the students are self-motivated and the best way to prepare is to focus on studying their subjects.

At the District Academic UIL Competition last weekend, the Frenship team performed extremely well, bringing home several placings. Twelve Frenship students placed high enough to advance on to the Regional Meet.  Advancing to regionals and beyond is a major accomplishment.

“I am excited to take 12 students to regionals,” said Miller. “The students performed very well at the district contest and improved our total score by 137 points from last year. To be successful in UIL Academics, it takes dedication to practice outside of the set practice times.”

Congratulations, Tigers!
