The Tigers have wrapped up another season, breaking school records, and making memories that will last a lifetime. Head Coach Paul Page shares that it was special on multiple levels.
“This was one of the most memorable seasons that I’ve experienced over the 11 years that I’ve been here at Frenship,” said Coach Page. “Yes, it was special because of the historical significance of advancing to the Regional Finals for the first time at the 6A level, but more importantly it was special because of how this group of guys grew and connected at a tremendously high level. That chemistry and bond contributed greatly to the amount of success we were able to achieve together.”
The mindset and energy throughout the season were consistently strong. The team was encouraged the most by the seniors, who led by example both on and off the court, showing what it meant to work hard, stay focused, and never back down in the face of adversity.
“This group was hungry and determined to make history from the beginning. They came to practice each day with the end goals in mind…our 5th consecutive district championship, and state tournament appearance. A lot of that mindset was driven by an amazing senior class that modeled and provided the internal leadership that all great teams need,” said Coach Page.
One key moment that helped the Tigers reach the Regional Finals was when they became the outright, undefeated district champion.
“I really believe our deep run was propelled by our big district championship win at home on Senior Night, we were a completely confident and connected team from that point on,” said Coach Page.
Coach Page plans to keep the momentum up and build up on the success achieved this season.
“We will miss this group of seniors and the legacy that they helped to create and maintain as Frenship Tigers. However, we will continue to trust and use our process and try to take the next step next year,” said Coach Page.
Looking ahead, Coach Page is excited to continue developing the younger players and building upon the culture of success the team has worked so hard to create.
“It was an amazing season, and we are so proud of this team for all their successes, but more importantly we are proud of the people they are and the way they represented Frenship Nation, their school, and the SHIP HOOPS family. Special group, special season!”
