Frenship Boys Golf Competes in Largest High School Golf Tournament

The Frenship Boys Blue Golf Team traveled last weekend to the largest high school Golf Tournament in the state, the Bart Granger Memorial Invitational. The tournament was hosted at the Pecan Valley Golf Course in Benbrook, TX. Our Frenship Tigers were one of the 51 teams and over 250 players who competed.

“Friday is a grueling 36 holes followed by 18 holes on Saturday,” said Boys Golf Coach Andrew Correll.

The Tigers were led by senior Palmer Stephens who finished tied for 47th out of 255 players. Senior Palmer Stephens shot rounds of 71, 76, and 73 for a total of 220. Next was Junior Drew McCalib shooting rounds of 77,75,79, 231 total placing him in the top 100. The rest of the Tigers who competed were Junior Jackson May with 82,77,79-238, Senior Pace Parker with 81,80,90-251, and Senior Zach Ware with 89,89,85-263.

“This is a grueling challenge to walk 36 holes in one day in 95-degree heat and humidity, but the Tigers played well for their first tournament of the season,” said Coach Correll.

Up next the Boys Blue and Gold Golf Teams will be in action on October 25-26 at the Frenship hosted South Plains Shootout at Rockwind GC in Hobbs, NM.

Great work, Tigers! We are proud of your commitment!
