Frenship Baseball Shuts Out Odessa High

The Frenship Tiger Baseball Team is trailing behind in second place on the District 2 6-A scoreboard. With a 5-1 District record and a 15-7-1 overall record, the team is looking forward to staying on top of the competition.

Head Baseball Coach Chad Reynolds feels pleased with how the Tigers competed against Odessa High. The final score was a complete shutout of 4-0 for the Tigers. Coach Reynolds shares that senior Brooks Roberson started on the mound and kept Odessa High from doing much at all.

“He was battling an illness but that didn’t stop him from being locked in on the mound. He finished the day with a complete game 71 pitch shutout,” said Coach Reynolds.

On the offense side, Senior Nano Mendoza hit a towering blast over the centerfield wall to give the Tigers some insurance.

“He hit three balls really hard, and fortunately one of them was a homerun,” said Coach Reynolds.

The Tigers are currently competing in the Midland High Series. Last night, the Tigers lost 2-4 against the Bulldogs in a tough battle. The series will wrap up on Saturday, April 6. Check out their playing schedule below:

  • Friday, April 5 @ Midland 6:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 6 @ Frenship 12:00 p.m.

Great work, Tigers! Keep it up!
