Tiger Tennis Clinches Success at Lake Travis Tourney

Just before the Spring Break holiday on March 8th, the Tigers showcased their talent at the Pat Whittlesey Invite hosted by Lake Travis High School. The Tigers faced some tough competition but came home with several medals. 

Aiden Ireland and Carson Rodriguez represented the Tigers in boys singles, competing fiercely in the A draw. In the A boys doubles draw, the duo of Preston Lowder and Carson Smith engaged in a few intense matches, clinching a thrilling semi-final victory in a tiebreak. The match went into a 10-point breaker, coming up just short of winning. The team took home 2nd place.  

The boys double team with Oliver Boyce and Dylan Lambert fought their way to the finals, only to fall short in another tight tiebreaker, coming in also coming in 2nd place. 

In the girls singles, Maizy Adams was victorious in the consolation finals with an 8-4 win. Hope Hancock competed in the same division and demonstrated her skills in a series of competitive matches. 

Alyssa Lowder and Bryleigh Norman, competed in the A draw, delivered an exciting first-round win, followed by a tough second match, securing their post for 3rd and 4th place. 

Mackenzie West and Kiera Wiles exhibited resilience in girls doubles, clinching three victories and emerging as champions in the C draw finals with a 6-2, 6-0 triumph. 

The mixed team of Lauren McCombs and Joseph McCombs battled through numerous competitive matches in the A draw. In the B mixed draw, the pairing of Myles Groseclose and Emery Murray secured a notable victory against Lake Travis 8-2. 

Frenship Tennis Coaches Chris Wiles and Shelby May expressed pride in the varsity team's hard work and determination in the Lake Travis Tourney. As district play approaches, they anticipate even greater achievements from the team. 

Coming up next, the Tigers will compete in the Central Slam Tourney in San Angelo on March 28.
