Frenship Softball Sweeps Three Consecutive Wins

The Frenship Tiger Softball Team is striking gold with a triple victory! Right before the Spring Break holiday, the Tigers played Andrews High School. The final score was 14-1 over the Mustangs. Assistant Softball Coach, Anna Williams, shares how the Tigers dominated the field.

“We run ruled Andrews in five innings 14-1,” said Coach Williams. “MacKenna McNeeley went 3 for 3 with two base hits and a triple! Brooklyn Esqueda exploded on the ball going 3 for 3 with 3 homeruns! She was also a wall behind the plate for our pitcher Kynlee Bowlin who struck out 10 batters. Alex Rangel had a triple which scored 2 and Ami Perez had a double with a run scoring on that hit as well.”

The Tigers winning streak continued as they started District play by facing Midland Legacy. The final score over the Rebels was 5-0. A few of the game highlights included Ami Perez with two singles and one run and Brooklyn Esqueda with two doubles and two RBI’s (runs batted in). Alex Rangel showed strong defense, having three chances without any errors. Lexi Clark held down the circle with 14 strikeouts and only two walks.

This past week, the Tigers had another shutout game against the Midland High Bulldogs. The final score was 3-0. Key game highlights included Kynlee Bowlin striking out nine and only allowing two hits. Frenship’s defense also held their ground without making any errors.

“Alex Rangel started hitting with a single and Kelvie Roberts stepped up and hit a single up the middle to put another run on the board. With this win we are now 2-0 in Districts and heading into Friday ready to take on Permian,” said Coach Williams.

Tonight’s game against Odessa Permian begins at 6:30 p.m. in Odessa.
