Boys Soccer Team Faces Tough Battles, Split Results Against Midland Legacy and Midland High

Last Friday kicked off with a closely contested match against Midland Legacy, ending in a narrow 2-1 defeat for  boys' soccer. Despite a hard-fought effort against the Rebels, and a crucial goal by Cooper Archer, Frenship fell short in collecting points towards a win.

Coach Smith emphasized the importance of sharpening up in key areas, stating, "This was a big home game in terms of collecting points. The standings are tight. The next couple of games are huge for us if we want to continue our season post spring break. We, as the coaches, know our players are capable. We must sharpen up in-and-around both boxes." Despite the setback, the team remained focused on their goals for the season ahead.

However, the boys quickly rebounded with a standout performance against Midland High, securing a 3-1 victory over the Bulldogs. Goals from Braden Anderson (2) and Kellen Martin (1) secured the Tigers' win, with Cooper Scott contributing two crucial assists.

Coach Smith applauded the team's efforts, highlighting their return to fundamental principles, stating, "Fantastic result... [We got] back to basics. I think we've recently overlooked some of those things that, ultimately, are the foundation of any individual or team." He commended Braden Anderson's stellar performance and Cooper Scott's consistent threat on the field, while also acknowledging the collective effort displayed by the entire team.

The victory not only marked a significant result for the team but also served as a reaffirmation of their capabilities and determination. As they continue the rest the season, Coach Smith's boys' soccer team remains positioned to tackle the rest of their opponents head-on.
