Frenship Art Shines at VASE Regional Competition

Frenship High School art students have been working hard all year designing, creating, and submitting artworks for the VASE Competiton. The Visual Arts Scholastic Events, referred to as VASE, are sponsored by the Texas Art Education Association. The region 17 VASE event was held last weekend, where 12 Frenship art works were selected to attend the state event.

The selection process for the state VASE event is extremely rigorous. Before the event, students must provide preliminary sketches of work and a description of the research and learning involved in creating the piece to ensure original work is submitted.

With 107 total entries, Frenship art students earned 95 top ratings of IV and had 12 pieces qualify for the state event held in San Marcos on April 27th. This equals 36% of the total state qualifying work from Region 17.
