Tiger Wrestling Team Advances to State Tournament

The Tigers did not tap out at the Regional Tournament last weekend. For the Boys, Noah Zuniga came in 3rd place securing his spot at the State Tournament. For the Girls, Ayiana Wright and Juliana Flores both placed 6th.

Assistant Wrestling Coach, Anna Williams, is proud of all the Tigers for competing hard, but is especially proud of Noah Zuniga for advancing to State.

“It is an incredible accomplishment as he is our first junior guy to be a Regional Placer and compete at State,” said Coach Williams.

Noah will be in Houston for the State Wrestling Tournament on February 15 – 17. At State, Noah will be competing in a very difficult 16-man bracket. Most competitors have less than 10 losses. Noah has had a strong record himself, with a 38-1 record for the season.

Coach Williams is proud of the progress made throughout the season by the wrestlers and is looking forward to many more successful seasons to come.

“I am very proud of the wrestlers as we had a lot place at Districts and multiple compete at Regionals. We are a young team, and I am excited for what the future holds,” said Coach Williams.

Awesome job, Tiger Wrestling Team! Good luck at State, Noah!
