Frenship Speech and Debate Compete at All Saints

Around 200 students competed at the recent All Saints Open Way Invitational Tournament, in a wide variety of events such as Prose, Poetry, Humorous Interpretation, Congress, and Domestic Extemporaneous.  

An invitational tournament is a way for Speech and Debate students to earn points to compete in both the NSDA (National Speech and Debate Association) District tournament and the TFA (Texas Forensic Association) State Tournament. 

Frenship took 11 students to the invitational, where they brought home five placements.  

  • Danielle Duff placed 1st in Informative Speaking 
  • Alex Serralde placed 2nd in Informative Speaking  
  • Annela Camus placed 2nd in Humorous Interpretation   
  • Drasti Patel and Kendall Rigney placed 2nd in Duo Interpretation   
  • Liam Byars and Alex Serralde placed 5th in Duo Interpretation   
  • Drasti Patel and Jai'la Abdula both broke to Semis in Prose Interpretation   
  • Liam Byars and Izabella Ramirez broke to Semis in Poetry Interpretation   

Next up for Speech and Debate is the NSDA (National Speech and Debate Association) District tournament in which they can qualify for the National Tournament.
