Frenship High School Varsity Pom Captain One of 300 Dancers to Perform at TDEA

The Texas Dance Educators Association is an annual two-part dance conference and convention for dance educators and elite dancers. Dance educators across Texas can attend master classes and seminars in all dance genres to gain new material, freshen up their skills in certain styles, and discuss and grow in the art of dance and coaching. The All-State Dance Convention is for selected dancers to represent their school and district in a major dance production. The All-State dancers take master classes as well and learn about different college avenues in dance.

Frenship’s very own Varsity Pom Captain, Rachael Boyer was selected to attend the convention and show off her skills among 300 other dancers from across Texas.

Varsity Pom Coach, Melissa Oakeley, is proud of Boyer and her commitment to Frenship’s Dance Program.

“Rachael has been part of our Pom Program since her freshman year,” said Oakeley. “Since day one, Rachael has demonstrated leadership, excellence, maturity, teamwork and has been such a reliable dancer in this program. Her skill set as a dancer is truly remarkable and she has exquisite mastery in all genres of dance.”

Coach Oakeley is thankful for Boyer’s tremendous love for dance and how it has helped others develop that same passion.

“There truly isn't anything Rachael cannot do. She has helped our program grow tremendously these past few years and I couldn't be more proud and grateful to be able to have coached her all these years,” said Oakeley.

Congratulations, Rachael Boyer!
