Girls Basketball Trailblazes through Season with 12-0 Record

The Frenship Tigers are definitely paving a way of success this season. On November 16-17 the Tigers hosted the HUB City Tip-Off Classic sponsored by Hub City Title Company. The Girls Varsity, JV, and Freshman team swept the competition, going undefeated in the tournament.  

“We won our tournament for the 5th consecutive season. It is great to bring in all of these teams and expose them to Frenship High School, Wolfforth, and Lubbock. We had teams from the Panhandle, Permian Basin, El Paso, and local surrounding communities as well,” said Girls Head Basketball Coach, Trent Hilliard.

Frenship defeats El Paso Montwood 68-39

On Tuesday, November 21, during the Thanksgiving break, the Tigers played the Lubbock-Cooper Pirates in the Tiger Pit. The Tigers sank the Pirate’s ship, taking home the win 65-60 making it an exciting game.

On Tuesday, November 28, the Tigers played at home against the Monterey Plainsmen. The matchup against key Monterey player, Aaliyah Chavez gave the Tigers a chance to show what they are made of.

Yesterday the Tigers traveled across Texas to El Paso for the Franklin Girls Basketball Classic Tournament. On day one of the tournament, the Tigers played El Paso El Dorado and El Paso Eastwood bringing home the win over both teams. The final scores of the game were: 80-19 over El Dorado and 65-19 over Eastwood. The Tigers head into day 2 with a 12-0 record for the season so far.  

Coming up next in the tournament, the Tigers play Tucson Ironwood Ridge at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, December 1. Later in the day, the Tigers play El Paso Coronado at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 1. Play for Saturday, December 2 is TBD.
