Although the Tigers came up short against the Sandies, Assistant Tennis Coach, Shelby May, is proud of the growth of the team this season.
“It was a great match against a state ranked 5-A opponent. The Tigers did not win as the final score was 4-15, but as coaches we are super proud of how they competed in each match. Being able to play a non-district match and compete well before the district championship next week is always good,” said Coach May.
The Tigers have earned a ranking through the Texas Tennis Coaches Association, being regionally ranked #8 in Region 1, 6-A.
“This regional ranking is a great achievement in a super tough region,” said Coach May. “Our student-athletes have worked hard for this accomplishment, and it was neat to watch their excitement when Coach Wiles and I told them about earning this ranking!”
