Frenship Baseball Dominates Eastwood for Bi-District Championship

Bi-District Playoffs Recap

Game 1: Frenship wins 10-0

In game one of the Bi-District playoffs, Blevins shut down the Eastwood Troopers, throwing a complete shutout and leading the Tigers to a 10-0 victory. He surrendered zero runs on three hits over five innings, striking out three and walking one.

Frenship opened up scoring in the first inning, and then scored six runs in the third inning with Curbo, Chancy, Hutcheson, and Boles all contributing with RBIs. The Tigers tallied one home run of the day with Curbo in the third inning.

The Tigers totaled nine hits. Curbo, Chancy, and Phillips all had two hits to lead Frenship. The Tigers didn’t commit a single error, and Curbo made the most lays with five.

Game 2: Frenship wins 15-8

Hutcheson was clutch at the plate with runners on base, driving in five on three hits to lead the Tigers past the Eastwood Troopers 15-8 on Saturday. Hutcheson drove in runs on a home run in the third, a single in the fourth, a walk in the fifth, and a single in the sixth.

The Tigers pulled away for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth inning, Heise singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run and Hutcheson singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs. The Tigers put up six runs in the fifth inning with Roberson, Mendoza, Heise, L. Hutcheson, H. Hutcheson, and Boles each driving in runs.

Roberson earned the win for Frenship, lasting four and two-thirds innings, allowing three hits, and seven runs while striking out five. Hutcheson threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Frenship totaled 17 hits. L. Hutcheson, H. Hutcheson, Phillips, Curbo, and Mendoza each had multiple hits.
