“I am so very proud of this team and how hard they played game in and game out. To do what we do and to play how we play is not easy, and these guys came to work every day with the right mind set and it paid off,” said Frenship Boys Basketball Head Coach Paul Page.

With a 9-1 district record, this is the Tigers third consecutive District Championship. It was also the second consecutive year the boys have won 30 games in a season, a first in the Frenship Boys Basketball program.

“This was an amazing group of guys that came together from the first day, highlighted by an amazing and selfless group of seniors who helped maintain the winning and cohesive culture that we have had over the last several years,” said Page. “There is no doubt that this senior class has left a legacy on Frenship Tiger basketball for years to come and they will carry that success on to their lives beyond high school.”

In addition to setting a school record with back-to-back 30-win seasons, the Tigers also racked up an impressive list of awards and milestones during their successful season.

Both senior Jalen Braziel and sophomore Patton Pinkins reached 1,000 career points during the season. Senior Tate Beeles was right on their heels, finishing with 964 career points. Braziel and Beeles have also been a part of the three consecutive District Championship wins and finished their varsity careers with a record of 83-14 and 32-2 in district play.

The Tigers also brought home three of the five top District 2-6A awards including Pinkins as District Player of the Year, Braziel winning District Offensive Player of the Year, and Coach Page and his coaching staff taking home the District 2-6A Coach and Staff of the Year.

Beeles earned 1st Team All-District, while junior Armani Gacanica and sophomore Daniel Gedeon earned 2nd Team All-District. Sophomore Leyton Stone and freshman Chase Campbell also came in with an All-District Honorable Mention.

The Tigers didn’t just shine on the court. Thirteen players also received Academic All-District honors including:

• Seniors Jacob De La Garza, Masen Opton, Tate Beeles, Dylan Kinsey, Garrett Kacal, Eli Judah, Chad Williamson, and Marissa Banks
• Junior Bailey Scully
• Sophomores Daniel Gedeon, Patton Pinkins, and Leyton Stone
• Freshman Chase Campbell

While he will miss this great group of seniors, Page says the outlook for the Tiger Basketball program remains strong.  “We love our seniors and wish them the very best in their futures, but we are also excited about the guys we have returning and know they are eager to continue to make their mark on Frenship Tiger Basketball,” he said.
