Frenship Art Students’ Creativity Soars to State

Approximately 450 works of art were submitted at the regional VASE competition in early February. Of those, 91 Frenship students submitted 97 original works of art.

The selection process for the State VASE event is extremely rigorous. Before the event, students must provide preliminary sketches of work as well as a description of the research and learning involved in creating the piece, to ensure original work is submitted.  As part of the judging process, the students must meet individually with the judge and explain the research and process behind their entry. Out of the hundreds of submissions, only 32 pieces advance to state in the regional competition.

Of the 32 state qualifiers, 10, or 31%, are works of art created by Frenship students. The following students will compete at the State VASE competition in April.
