Frenship Baseball Sweeps Abilene, Begins Series Against San Angelo Central

The Tigers competed in the final series game against Abilene High last Saturday with a 9-0 shut out.

"Gage Cobb started on the mound striking out 4, in 4 innings of work," Frenship Baseball Head Coach Chad Reynolds said. "The bullpen finished out the game with Lawson Peel, Matthew Plunkett and Daniel Najera all contributing a scoreless inning of shutout relief each."

Frenship's Coldon Kiser lead the way for the Tigers going 2 for 2, with 2 triples, a walk and an RBI. Lawson Peel and Ethan Curbo both scored Tiger homeruns.

On Tuesday, March 29 the Tigers played San Angelo Central for the second game of the series. Frenship and San Angelo first faced off back on March 10 during the First Bank Classic Baseball tournament. The Tigers beat SAC 8-1, but weren't able to keep control of the series.

"We lost to Central 2-1 in extra innings Tuesday evening to up the series at one game each," Reynolds said. "Brooks Roberson allowed 1 run on 7 hits while striking out 5 in 5 innings of work. Carter Estill came in out of the pen working 2 2/3 innings allowing 1 run while striking out 3."

The final game of the series will be played at home on Saturday, April 2. Tickets can be purchased HERE.
