The Frenship Tiger Softball team showed San Angelo Central who was boss earlier this week, winning 8-2 and banking 14 hits as a team.
"We had a great team effort and it was a good way to start district," Frenship Softball Head Coach Robby Dickenson said. "I was real pleased with the determination, effort and drive the team had with two different double plays that helped to kill Central rallies."
Sydnee Bolin had three hits, one RBI, and an impressive three stolen bases. Lysa Builton had two hits and three RBIs, Abby Tarr had two hits, Blair Collier had two hits and one stolen base, Makayla Garcia had one hit and a stolen base, Jill Franco had one hit and three walks, and Emma Peoples had one stolen base.
Erin Boles was the winning pitcher, giving only four hits to San Angelo Central, four strikeouts, and one earned run.
The Tigers will compete again on Saturday, March 12 against Odessa Permian at Frenship.
"As always we will focus on fundamentals," Dickenson said, "and take cuts at the plate to keep our offense clicking!"
