Frenship Wrestling Head Coach Clinton Wood said he was impressed with the early showing that his teams put on.

“On the guys side, Senior 138 pound Shane Williams and Junior 120 pound Vincent Garcia really showed good technique and mat presence for an early season tournament,” Wood said. “On the girls side, Junior 102 pound Rebecca Vann and Sophomore 138 pound Kayden Johnson went undefeated on the day, showing their improvement over the off season.”

Wood said the teams also competed in a triangular on Tuesday in Palo Duro against Boys Ranch and Palo Duro.

“We came away with our first two victories of the season in dominate fashion,” Wood said. “Tiger grapplers defeated Palo Duro 66-15 and Boys Ranch 78-6.  It was truly a great showing by all.”

The Tiger wrestlers are preparing for the Tascosa Turkey Tango Tournament on November 24 during the Thanksgiving break.
