Frenship Volleyball Plays First Home Game of the Season

Senior Devyn Nairn had 8 kills, along with senior Addison McClure who had 6, and senior Maddie Brouillette had an impressive 9 digs.

The Tigers went 16-25 in the first set, won the second set 25-20, kept fighting in the third set which ended 17-25, but ultimately fell to the Sandies in the fourth 12-25.

New Head Volleyball Coach Toree Winchell said that her team stuck to their game plan and executed well.

“We were right there with them,” Winchell said. “Seniors Maddie Brouillette, Addison McClure, and Devyn Nairn showed great leadership both on and off the court. The game was a good test for us. They are a fast-paced team with some really big hitters.”

Winchell said that the season is off to a great start and that these pre-season games and tournaments are meant to help the team learn and grow.

“We have gone up against some big teams and played them really close,” Winchell said. “There are so many positive things to build on. Combating the graduation of such a big class, I am working with the girls to gain their confidence in their play, and I am letting them see and experience the feel of the fast moving varsity pace.”

Winchell came to Frenship from Frisco Reedy High School where she was the Varsity Assistant Volleyball coach and Track coach.

“Frenship and the community of Wolfforth have been amazing,” Winchell said. “The support and the atmosphere of our first home game on Tuesday was a memory that I will always hold on to.”

The Tigers play again this weekend in the Allen Tournament in Allen, TX. Their next home game will be streamed live here when Frenship hosts the Frenship Volleyball tournament in the Tiger Pit.
