On March 12, the Tigers played Odessa Permian at Permian High School and defeated the Lady Panthers, 11-1 in a five inning run. The Tigers team had an impressive 10 hits with Sydnee Bowlin going 4 for 4 at the plate and getting 4 RBIs. Erin Boles had 8 strikeouts and gave up 4 hits.
On March 16, Frenship faced Midland Lee at home and won the game 11-0 in a five inning run. Erin Boles gave up 3 hits and got 7 strikeouts, Maya Mongelli had a homerun, AB Prestige had 2 hits, and Makayla Garcia had 3 RBIs and one stolen base.
On March 19, the Tigers battled against Abilene High at Abilene High School. The Tigers fell in an extremely close defeat, 7-8. As a team the Tigers had an impressive 14 hits. Maddie Stewart, Blair Collier, and Makayla Garcia had 2 hits each. AB Prestige had 2 hits and one homerun, Maya Mongelli had one homerun and 2 RBIs, and Jill Franco had one stolen base.
Frenship Softball Head Coach, Robby Dickenson, said that even though the game against Abilene High was a heartbreaker his team is preparing for a tough game ahead.
“Our next game is this Friday against Odessa High at home,” Dickenson said. “They are undefeated in district and will be a big game. They are well rounded will be a challenge for us, but we are ready to face that challenge.”
