Senior Soccer Spotlight: Macie Jacobs

Read the Q&A below to learn more about this outstanding athlete:

Q: Tell us about you!

A: I was born here in Lubbock, Texas, and have been attending Frenship since the second grade. Soccer has always been a huge part of my life. I learned to walk with a soccer ball at my feet and I’ve been unstoppable ever since.

Q: Tell us about your soccer career.

A: Since I was 10, I’ve played for teams in the Dallas - Fort Worth area. My current team is Sting ECNL from the Dallas area. Playing in Dallas means lots of travel and sacrifices but it has all been worth it.

Q: How is this season going?

A: This year we have a lot of new faces, and with lots of team bonding, we are growing such a strong bond with each other on and off the field. For this season I am really expecting big things and I am excited to enjoy playing one last year with these girls and to pull out another district win, while working hard and having fun doing it!  For my four years of playing for varsity after playing many positions I finally found my position as center back. With district kicking off starting yesterday, I can’t wait to see what we accomplish this season.

Q: What is the best part of being a Tiger?

A: My favorite thing of being able to play four years on Frenship Varsity Soccer is that my team is my second family and I love all these girls like they are my sisters. It goes to show we all work hard for each other so we can be better on and off the field as people and as players.

Q: What is next for you?

A: I have committed and signed to play soccer for Angelo State University next fall.
