Frenship Boys Soccer Soars Over Competition in First Scrimmage of the Season

Head Boys Soccer coach, Scott Smith, said that despite the score, he was thrilled with the outcome of the scrimmage.

"Everyone was on the same page," Smith said. "We speak our own language and know our plays offensively and defensively, and as a coach that is all I ask - apply training to the game."

Smith said that what he wants his team to focus on this year is applying their training and enjoying the process.
He said during the offseason, his group has been taking things one step at a time.

"Our tactical and physical periodization have been very, very good," Smith said. "We've done a better job at breaking the game down tactically, and building the player physically, so I believe this is our best ever Fall period."

Smith said he and his team have noticed a silver lining from the shut down last spring.

"Having the summer away from competing was the chance to reflect, analyze, and rebuild," Smith said. "The returners have good experience, the incoming freshmen have been injected with a fresh perspective, and we have changed some pieces of training. Overall, win, lose, or draw, we will see a better, more all-around, organized boys soccer team."
