Tiger Basketball Teams Gear Up for Weekend Match Ups

The Frenship girls team was up against the Amarillo Tascosa Lady Rebels on Friday, December 4. The Tigers started off by ending the 1st quarter with a 7 point deficit, but by the end of the first half the girls gained the lead 39-35. The Tigers went on to claim the victory over Tascosa, 76-68.

On Saturday, December 5, the girls took on the Lubbock Titans at Frenship. The girls soared through the first half and were up double 50-25. The girls only scored 10 points in the second half but never gave up their lead and took home the W ending the game 60-43.

Last Tuesday, December 8, the Tigers took on #8 in 3A - The Idalou Lady Wildcats. The game had a shaky start for the Tigers and at the end of the first quarter Idalou led by 8. In the second quarter, the Tigers fought to the take the lead but fell short by one point ending the half at 32-31 Idalou. After the half, the Tigers stayed tight on the Wildcat's trail, but ended up falling short with a final score of 66-51. Leading for Frenship was Addison McClure with 12 points, Zaria Fowler with 11 points, and Abby Boyce with 10 points.

The girls squad is back on the court again on Friday, December 11 when they host Plainview at the Tiger Pit.

The Frenship boys team hosted Monterey last Friday, December 4. The boys started the game behind in the 1st quarter. Jeb Smallwood started the upward trend with a three-pointer early followed by Tate Beeles with the steal and fast break, pulling the Tigers ahead 15-14. The Tigers held onto their lead and ended the game with a win, 87-74.

On Saturday, December 5, the boys traveled to Mansfield to take on the Mansfield Timberview Wolves. In the first quarter, TJ Miller tried to get things going for Frenship by draining a three-pointer early in the first, followed quickly by Jeb Smallwood sinking a shot from the outside for three. The Tigers wouldn't be able to claim the lead in this game though, and ended with a 49-69 loss. 

Last Tuesday, December 8, the boys traveled to Coach Page's old "stomping grounds" to face Seminole. The Tigers played an impressive game 16 steals. Devin Hartfield led the charge with 22 points, TJ Miller had 15 points, and Tate Beeles had 11. The boys ended the game with a win, 81-70.

The Frenship boys basketball team will face Amarillo Tascosa on Friday, December 10 at home.
