Tigers End Season with Resounding Senior Night Victory

Frenship, led in large part by junior quarterback Gage Cobb, jumped out to an early lead following a 10-yard back shoulder fade from Cobb to senior wide receiver Carson Miller in the first.

Kicker Jon Olivarez, who finished the season with a perfect 6-6 on field goals and 28-28 on extra points, nailed a 34-yard attempt to push the lead to 10-0 and senior running back William Bayouth punched in a 2-yard score to give the Tigers’ a 17-0 advantage before halftime.

The Tiger defense was a major factor in the outcome. Senior linebacker Sebastian Arocha scooped up a Broncho fumble and scampered 12-yards to complete the scoop and score in the third quarter. In the fourth it was senior linebacker Jake Gilbert who had a scoop and score of his own with a 9-yard fumble returned for a touchdown. Arocha played lights out on the evening, and in addition to the touchdown, tallied three sacks and one tackle for loss as well.

Senior safety Brady Wolfe led the way with five tackles on the night, and senior linebacker Tristin Laughlin also had four alone with Arocha. Gilbert also tallied two tackles for loss in addition to his touchdown.

Not to be outdone, the offense threw a few more fireworks at the Bronchos including a screen to Ty Glass that saw exceptional downfield blocking and blazing speed springing Glass for the 65-yard strike, the final touchdown of the season.

The Tigers will head into the offseason looking to assess every part of their program and build up young players to step into roles vacated by a large senior class. Information about a potential spring game for Frenship Football will be forthcoming in the coming months.
