The Varsity girls team finished in second place overall with Faith Zint as the District champion and Amaya Mendoza took tenth place. It was a tight race as Zint ran for a first-place time of 19:54.53 and Mendoza finished tenth with a time of 21:47.53.
Both girls, as well as the entire Varsity girls’ team, will head to the Regional meet.
The Varsity boys team finished in fourth place overall with Collin Turley running for ninth place and Jalon Jackson taking tenth place. Turley ran for a time of17:30.78 and Jackson for a time of 17:31.09.
Turley and Jackson will both advance to the Regional meet.
Amanda Kirkpatrick commented about the meet, “I am extremely proud of all of the kids and their dedication to this sport, and to each other. I really cannot say enough about what great humans I get to coach. They are so much more than athletes; they are genuinely amazing people. We look forward to the opportunity to keep this season going and compete in quite possibly the most competitive region in the state.”
