Tiger Tennis Opens District 2-6A with Victories in Doubleheader on the Road

Of course, as in all high school sports, it’s the district record that counts and the Tigers took care of business in a big way in their District 2-6A opener.

Frenship went on the road Saturday, September 19 and faced Odessa Permian in the morning and Odessa High in the afternoon. The Tigers came out victorious over the Panthers by a 17-2 mark. Frenship’s two losses in the morning match came in Girls Doubles and Girls Singles. However, both found redemption in the afternoon as the Tigers followed with an even more impressive 18-1 victory over the Bronchos.

The Tigers were back in action Tuesday, September 22 with more non-district action facing off with Monterey in Lubbock, Frenship fell 14-5 to the Plainsmen.

Frenship will defend their 2-0 District record at home on Saturday, September 26 against new District 2-6A opponent the Abilene High Eagles, who they will host at 9:30am at the Frenship Athletic Complex. Fans are reminded that face coverings continued to be required in Frenship facilities, even when outside, and social distancing guidelines are in place for Frenship Tennis matches.
