FHS Ninth Grade Center Announces New Assistant Principal

She will be making the transition to her new role from Frenship High School where she taught English for the past nine years and was the English Department Chair for the past four years.

Taylor is a West Texas native and attended Frenship schools all her life. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Texas Tech University with a minor in Secondary Education and a Master's in Educational Leadership from Wayland Baptist University.

She began her career at Frenship High School as an English Teacher in 2011. During her time at FHS she was honored with multiple awards including FHS Teacher of the year and the Beaumont Excellence in Education Award. After stepping into the role of English Department Chair, Taylor also lead workshops where she coached and supported fellow teachers.

Taylor says she looks forward to her new role and is excited to work with and help support the students, staff, and administration at the Ninth Grade Center.

I look forward to serving the Frenship community through these difficult times,” said Taylor. “I welcome that challenge, and I am excited to work with our 9GC team to meet the needs of our freshmen this year.”

Taylor will serve as the Assistant Principal alongside AP Justin Burrus under the leadership of Principal Heath Simpson. She and her husband Zac have two daughters, Collins and Brookes. Collins will follow in Kelsey’s footsteps and begin her career as a Frenship Tiger in kindergarten this year.
