The Frenship High School DECA team competed in the Texas DECA state competition in Ft. Worth, Texas last week. The competition included role plays concerning real life business situations, research papers, business, marketing and finance testing as well as presentations.
Texas DECA is the most competitive chapter in the United States with over 14,000 members competing for a spot at nationals. Frenship DECA students were up to the tough competition and came through with shining colors. Two groups will advance to the national competition in Nashville, TN held in late April this year. Freshman team Wilson Cardenas, Howard Corbin, and Taylor Baker won with their Project Management- sales project. They presented an analysis about how they grew the spirit box sales and profit this year at the freshman center.
Addi Wall and Brook Pugh, Seniors at Frenship High School won competing in a role play about Business Law and Ethics.
In addition to the State winners, Frenship DECA also had four alternate winners. Grant Mccombs who competed in an Accounting Applications Role Play, Anna Merrill and Addison Hardy who competed in a Travel and Tourism event, and Grant Phillips who presented a professional selling project.
Anna Merrill and Grant Phillips also earned a great honor. They were selected by Texas DECA officials to represent our state as voting delegates at the national competition in Nashville. They will attend and represent Texas to vote for national officers of DECA.
Frenship DECA continues its history of success and looks forward to making the Frenship school district proud.
