Frenship Foundation Announces Benefit Concert in September

A community-wide concert hosted by the Frenship Foundation for Leadership will provide a night of entertainment featuring timeless artists, Big & Rich, and special guests. Funds raised from this concert will be distributed to Frenship ISD through the form of student character scholarships and teacher grants. The concert is scheduled for September 20, 2020.

The Foundation made the announcement with a video on social media, including the Presenting Sponsors, Robert Wood and Trey Strong of Escondido, Foundation board members, Mikella Newsom and Jamie Mills, and Foundation Director, Emily Solis.

"We reached the $1 million mark in giving back to the District this year, which was a huge milestone for the Foundation," said Solis. "We are so excited to continue the momentum through a new fundraising event that we believe the community will enjoy. Everyone is invited to get involved with the Foundation to support our innovative teachers and extraordinary students."

As described by the artists, this year's entertainers, Big & Rich, are America’s Technicolor cowboys, brothers-in-arms in service to the creed that great music has no boundaries. Individually, John Rich and Big Kenny are first-rate musicians, songwriters, producers, entertainers. Together, they are one of the most truly original musical forces ever unleashed on a welcoming world. Big & Rich have made a career of being relatable and musically relevant since exploding into the public consciousness in 2003 as the rarest of breeds — true country music game changers. With 2004’s triple-platinum “Horse of a Different Color,” they were able to tap into the best strands of a wide spectrum of popular music, filter them through their pens and voices and produce a sound that is instantly recognizable, if not classifiable.

"By sponsoring a table, donating auction items or purchasing a ticket, you are supporting the staff and students of Frenship," said Wood. "We hope you'll all join us and get involved in supporting the Foundation."
