Frenship High School Ensembles Bring Home Gold

A big congratulations goes out to the Frenship Indoor Performing Ensembles for their Gold and Silver medals at the Caprock Color Guard Circuit Championships last weekend. This marks the fourth year in a row that both the Varsity and JV Winter Guards have won the Championship in their divisions.

“They have had fabulous shows all season long,” said Tom SoRelle, Director of Bands. “They’ve worked really hard and represent the Frenship Band at the highest level. And to be the champions four years in a row, I’m really proud of what they’ve accomplished.”

The event was Saturday, March 30 at the Dorothy Garrett Coliseum at Howard College in Big Spring, TX. With more than 600 students from 38 different performing units, Frenship competed against schools all across the panhandle, central and west Texas, and eastern New Mexico.

Below are the specific honors awarded to Frenship students.

  • Frenship Indoor Drumline – Silver Medalists of the Marching Percussion Division
  • Frenship Gold Winter Guard – Gold Medalists of the Novice Colorguard Division
  • Frenship Blue Winter Guard – Gold Medalists of the Scholastic A Division

“We are so proud of how these students represent Frenship,” said Scott Carter, Associate Director of Bands. “They work extremely hard and practice at a really high level to be able to achieve what they do. Lots of credit goes to their directors – Louie Pereira (drumline) and Cindy and Brian Gruben (guard) for pushing them to be their best.”
