Frenship Softball Named District Champions

Our Frenship Tiger Softball Team has proven their success by claiming the District 2-6A Championship Title! After defeating San Angelo Central last week on senior night, the Tigers will now take their talents to the next level for the playoffs.

Assistant Softball Coach, Anna Williams shares the game highlights and key plays.

“It was a great end to the regular season, beating Central 8-1,” said Coach Williams. “Senior pitcher, Kynlee Bowlin, had a fantastic performance in the circle with 10 strikeouts and helped her team to victory. Senior outfielder, Neaveh Carranza, dove into left field to keep the runners from scoring and helped move her teammates around the bases while hitting. Senior first baseman, Natalie Mendoza, held it down at first base making some great stretches to get batters out and had a scoring base hit. Senior right fielder, Ava Garcia, made some fantastic snags to keep Central from scoring and put the ball in play to move her teammates into scoring position. Overall, it was a tremendous way to end the district play.”

On April 26, the Tigers will travel to Fort Stockton to take on El Paso Eastlake in the first round of playoffs. Friday’s game begins at 5:00 p.m. The second game will be on Saturday, April 27, at 11:00 a.m. If needed, game three will happen 30 minutes after game two.
